ABOUT THE STUDIO

My goal is to provide piano lessons that are both fun and educational. Lessons are tailored to individual students and their interests. Students are encouraged to play the piano for family, friends, their church, recitals, and for their own enjoyment. The opportunity to perform for an annual state music teacher evaluation/certificate is also encouraged, but not required. Fall and Spring piano classes are offered as part of private instruction as a performance opportunity and chance for students to make friends and encourage one another.

Credentials

• I have many years of experience teaching piano, elementary school music, music theory, and music history to students of all ages, from kindergarten to adults.

• I have taught group adult piano classes at the college level

• Master’s Degree in Music, Bachelor of Science in Bible/Church Music, Bachelor of Music Education

• New Mexico Level 3a Teacher Certificate, K-12 Performing Arts

• Texas Music Teacher Certification (all level)

• Kodály Certification Levels I, II, and III

• Member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico (PMTNM)
